So, on the second day of modeling I got kind of ahead of myself. I can’t just model the whole scene then apply some materials, I have to apply some during my modeling process. In this render, I have some textures that aren’t final but good enough for me to get an idea on how it might turn out later.

After watching some of digital tutors videos on modeling a bathroom scene. I decided to try out my hand at modeling one. I’ll post up my progress each day. I don’t have the most time to work on it each day, but I’ll try to complete something.

I’m going to try and export this to After Effects and have video playing on the billboard. I thought it might be a cool exercise to try out the workflow between Cinema 4D and After Effects. This billboard was created fairly quickly with lots of clones and copying. For the support system behind the sign, I created one metal angle beam and duplicated it and rotated it to fit and make a realistic structure. I think it turned our pretty good. So on day 3, I modeled and tried to texture him slightly. He ended up taking on a lizard type look. I think he didn’t turn out that bad seeing it was my first character model. I ended up learning a lot about modeling and I would change the way I did a bunch of stuff. I’d love to hear some feedback.

Day 2 started out really good, I thought. I model a human head on this creature and it looked terrible. I realized that my alien cartoon guy shouldn’t look at all like a human, so I scrap it and started to model a more alien like head. So far, I got the shape down that I think I’m going to used. Who know though when I get a little bit of time tomorrow to work on it.
